P Wilson & Company are immensely proud that our friend and colleague Andrew T Coney MRICS FAAV has for the last year served as the National President of The Central Association of Agricultural Valuers.

The National Presidency sees Andrew follow in the footsteps of our Senior Partner Paul Wilson FRICS FAAV who also served as National President in 2000/2001, reflecting the firm’s long commitment to the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers, and the professional values which it promotes.  Andrew’s presidency also reflects his personal dedication to the Central Association, having, prior to joining the Presidential Team, served as a Northern Group Examiner, Chairman of the National Written Examinations Board and as Chairman of the Valuation Compensation and Taxation Committee.

Despite the ongoing Covid restrictions, during his presidential year, Andrew has had the opportunity to visit a number of local associations in person, and interact with many more at online meetings, conferences and seminars.  However, as his year as President draws to an end, it will culminate in him hosting the 78th Annual General Meeting & Conference of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers in Liverpool on Thursday 23rd & Friday 24th June 2022.

The theme of Andrew’s conference is that of Climate Change and the Profession, and incorporates a private tour of the Knowsley Estate on the Thursday, and a conference on Friday including a range of respected and knowledgeable speakers giving their views on the potential impacts of Climate Change, including Charlie Ireland of Ceres Rural, perhaps better known as ‘Cheerful Charlie’, the long suffering agent from the hit Amazon television programme Clarkson’s Farm, who will be  giving his practical view on carbon accounting, soils and biodiversity.

In addition to the more formal aspect of the conference, there is also the opportunity for members to enjoy an evening’s entertainment at the famous Cavern Club, and the CAAV’s Annual Black Tie Dinner.

With such an exciting programme and prospect, P Wilson & Company would encourage as many of our fellow Valuers as possible to join us in Liverpool, to support Andrew, the Association, and enjoy what is bound to be an interesting, thought provoking, and above all enjoyable event.
